Well Folks. It has been a while since I have done a podcast. There are a couple of reasons for this firstly I don’t have a mic processor at the moment after I gave back a spare one we had at HR Chelmsford so have to purchase one myself - any recommendations? I am currently looking at a DBX 286a.

Secondly… the company I use for Audio Hosting only gives me a 100mb limit a month and I used it up for the awards audio which has been downloaded 188 times as of today! I shall be releasing a podcast soon which will contain audio from the HBA Conference in Northampton. It will most probably be the recording of the OFCOM session.

anyway … in the meantime an application I have used has been made available for Windows as well as Mac which can be used for commercial and non commercial purposes. It is called The Levelator and it simply levels out any .wav or .aiff file. If you have perhaps recorded an interview with someone and the levels are a little poor. You simply open the application and drag the uncompressed file onto it and it will level it for you and stick it in the same directory the original file was in. It will not do anything to the original so if you don’t like it you still have your original file. Give it a go …. it’s free! You can find it at http://www.gigavox.com/levelator.

Hi All,

Just saying sorry there hasn’t been a show for a while. I am extremely busy with both work and Hospital Radio Chelmsford move stuff.

We move hospitals and studios on the 29th March and most of my time outside of work has been taken up project managing this move in an attempt to mean the service will continue during the transition.

There will be some recordings of the seminars done at the Conference plus hoping to record the awards ceremony again and put it out on the podcast.

No show this week as I prepare to go to the Falkland Islands for work. I hope to record my trip and take some pictures which I will include in the enhanced show and link to on my flickr site.

Hi All,

With the introduction of the new enhanced version of the podcast I am after some new artwork to put into it.

I ideally would like a new piece of artwork for the On Air Podcast and the On Air Podcast Enhanced. They can be the same picture with just ‘enhanced’ added to it at the bottom.

The artwork needs to be 300 x 300 pixels and I would prefer if it didn’t have my face on it. I need artwork for Wade’s World, HBA News, Hospital Radio News, Feedback and Contact. They can be around the same theme with just different words at the bottom of them if that helps.

Anything in .jpg format would be welcomed.

Am working on the next episode of the OAP. The enhanced version is now subscribe-able in iTunes just do a search in the iTunes store for ‘matt wade’ and you should be in luck.

Sorry for the delay. It is being recorded this week and done in post production for release at the weekend. I shall also be reversioning it as an enhanced podcast to which you can subscribe to by putting in feeds.feedburner.com/onairpodcastenhanced into itunes using the subscribe to podcast option from the top menu.

This podcast will include my chats with those exhibitors at the trade show part of the Norwich Conference and some audio from the boat trip. Plus some HBA News and other ’stuff’

Feel free to have a look around and play some of the older archive podcasts from this page - you just need flash installed or just right click on the name of the podcast and save to your computer and play with Media Player.

The best thing to do if you have iTunes installed is to click on the itunes button on the right hand side to subscribe - It’s Free and it means you will get the shows automatically everytime I record another one.

I am due to be putting one together in the next two weeks as I have lots of editing to do with my conference recordings plus the start of the Enhanced podcast with pictures!

Hi All,

There will not be a podcast this weekend as normal as I am going to be preparing for the anniversary programme. I have set up a Skypecast for the anniversary programme which will be recorded at 2030 on the 3rd October and you can join in on the recording live by having skype on your computer with a microphone attached. If you click on the name of this post you will go to the skypecast website where you can find out more - you will need a skype account and a broadband connection for this to work. You can call the programme as well on the night using the number below.
